About Me, Your
Canemaker
Your cane artist, WhypDancer, on vacation in July, 2002. My favorite waterfall in North Carolina... one of my favorite spots
on earth.
Hello!! Thank you so much for taking the time to look at my site.
I am a very young 40-something year old female. I host the SW Florida Munch
and occasional parties in the Ft Myers, Florida area. I
love making canes... it is a really great creative outlet for me, gives me an excuse to
shop for something other than candles, and keeps me busy and out of trouble. What's the
saying.. "busy hands are happy, out of trouble hands?" LOL
This is where I like to work outside in the cooler early mornings and evenings.
You can't believe how thrilled I am when new cane
purchasers write and tell me how much they love the cane they purchased. It is
so exciting to me!! I LOVE to go to clubs and parties and see people using
the canes I made.. it makes me feel so proud and delighted! Sometimes
people send me photos of the stripes and bruises made by my canes. It is great to hear when somebody who was previously
afraid of canes tried it and loved the experience. I tend to giggle with delight
when I read people's accounts of their experiences with my canes :) :)
:)
The testing, research, and development of my line is a rather painful process , but it is very important. Its the only way I can be sure they'll hold up to
whatever you want to do with them. I sacrifice quite a bit of my own skin testing new products & batches of rattan to gauge the degree
of sting, burn, or thud, welt-making capability, skin-tearing capability (OUCH), and how
well they'll hold up to lots of use and abuse. Its a tough job, but somebody has to
do it. The test items are not sold-- they get added to my own collection. The
items for sale have never touched human flesh, other than my hands while making
them.
